Junior goalkeeper Riley Adams had seven saves – doing admirably her first game for the Storm. Adams’ saves forced not one, but two overtimes in Simpson’s season-opening draw versus Grinnell College.

Adams had five saves in regulation and two more in overtime. Grinnell took 18 shots overall and Simpson held them to zero goals. Simpson took a total of 13 shots and five on goal.

Meredith Harrison and Mackenzie Stump led Simpson in shots taken with three apiece and each had two shots on goal. They were supplemented by two shots from Maddie Thomas and one shot each from Jessica Payne, Casey Reisen, Taylor Sudmann, Lauren Stillman and Taylor Vaudt.

Simpson showed some young talent with six freshmen seeing playing time. Maddie Glasscock, Daria Mather, Aimee Schrock and Bre Waugh all started for the Storm. Jessica Payne and Taylor Sudmann both entered the game and saw time on the pitch.

The next game Simpson plays will be Saturday against Concordia in Rockford, Illinois.
