The Simpson baseball team traveled to St. Louis this past weekend and came home with a 2-2 record.

The men started the weekend playing Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday, whom they defeated 3-0. Senior Scott Brown took the win on the mound with allowing just seven hits.

Junior Mike Donnenwerth carried the team to a victory in the seventh inning by nailing one out of the park to bring in sophomore Jon Clanton and senior Scott Sibbel.

The Storm continued play that afternoon against Washington University (Mo.). Unfortunately, the Storm couldn’t continue its streak from that morning and lost 1-10.

Simpson then had until the following morning to get refreshed and be back on the field. They played Illinois Wesleyan University, but unfortunately the result wasn’t the same this time around.

The Storm fell to them by a score of 3-9.

The last game played on Sunday afternoon was a rematch against Washington and the Storm captured a 7-4 victory.
