Volleyball
Simpson volleyball continues on its 10 game winning streak with a 3-2 victory over Coe College on Sept. 16.
This is the longest winning streak for the Storm since 1994. Coe took the first game of the match 33-31, but Simpson fought back and won the next game 30-19.
Coe then took the lead of the match with a 30-25 win over the Storm. Simpson went on to win the match beating Coe 30-19 and then 15-9.
Simpson is one of three Iowa Conference teams ranked nationally at No. 24.
Women’s Soccer
Sophomore goalie Stephanie Shimp had eight saves for the Simpson women’s soccer team against UW-La Crosse, but it wasn’t enough to earn a victory.
The Storm lost to UW- La Crosse 5-0 on Saturday, Sept. 20.
The following day was another defeat for the Simpson soccer team. UW-Eau Claire defeated the Storm 3-1.
Women’s Golf
The Storm women golfers took second place at the Luther Invitational on Sept. 20. Simpson shot 335, 10 shots behind first place winner Buena Vista.
Sophomore Steph Schenfeld shot a season low of 79 and tied with two others for third.
Senior Karen Smith took sixth place shooting a season low 80.
Freshman Rachel LeValley and senior Senta Willenborg also finished in the top 20.
