Simpson football opened IIAC play defeating Coe 20-13 this past Saturday. Storm Defense held the Kohawks to 11 yards rushing in the first half and had a 7-0 lead going into halftime.

The Storm sealed the victory with quarterback Mike Donnenwerth’s 26-yard touchdown pass to sophomore Dusty Kain. The Kohawks had one more opportunity to score but sophomore Chris Kern intercepted for the final play of the game. Sophomore cornerback, Nick McFall, led the Simpson defense with nine solo tackles.

This is the first time since 1999 that Simpson has started out the season 2-0.
