Football

After a shocking 92-yard touchdown run by Loras in the openingof the game, Simpson took control of the rest of the game.

The Storm defeated Loras 42-14 on Saturday, Nov. 1.

They secured a large halftime lead of 21-7, when senior MattHaberl picked off the pass at the goal line just before the end ofthe half.

Loras again had an exciting opener. The Storm was forced toattempt a punt and senior Mike Donnenwerth’s punt was blocked.

Loras took over at the Storm’s eight yard-line and proceeded toscore three plays later to cut the lead 21-14.

The Storm defense came in full force. The defenses recorded foursacks, three from senior Jesse Dubishar.

Volleyball

Simpson College was defeated by Loras 3-1 last Tuesday. Simpsonwon the game opener 30-25. Loras took the next three games to winthe match. Junior Shannon Stewart led the Storm in kills with 24.Senior Rachael Spree had a game high in digs with 25.

At the Simpson Triangular on Nov. 1, Simpson was triumphant inboth matches. Simpson defeated Augustana 3-0 to begin play.

The Storm also defeated Grand View in their second match 3-2.Senior Liz Whims posted 23 assists.
