The Indianola-based band Index Case, with a little hard work, isbecoming a household name within the music industry.

The four-piece band includes Simpson alumnae Korey Birkenholtzon bass, Joe Ansley on vocals, Josh Parker on guitar, and JordanSpence on drums. The boys recently signed a contract with a majorrecord label and are currently in California recording their fourthfull-length album.

After the 2002 release of “The Weak and the Wounded,” the band’sthird full-length album, Index Case found the album in the topfifteen of the College Music Journal’s charts.

Soon after, the band took a big step and signed to No NameRecords, a subsidiary of Elektra Records, a division of WarnerMusic.

Since then they have been busy making their music available to agreater audience. Their song “Listen” can be found as trackthirteen on the “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” soundtrack along withgroups like Pantera and Fear Factory. They have also played withname acts, like P.O.D., Papa Roach, Rob Zombie, and Disturbed.

The band has gotten name brand endorsements. After supportingthe four on their 2002 tour, Pepsi Co.’s AMP energy drink offeredIndex Case a licensing deal. They signed, and afterwards they evenfilmed an AMP television spot for the Des Moines area.

On October 22, 2003 the band went back into the studio inMalibu, Cal., and have been there since, living and working out ofthe studio. They are projected to be finished on January 29, 2004,and the fourth, yet unnamed album will be in stores in June or Julyof 2004.

When they are finished, the four members plan to take a shortbreak and then begin another U.S. tour, lasting from March untilAugust.
