Art gallery provides decor ideas

There is an interesting new gallery opening soon on theIndianola square called The Painted Pony Gallery.

According to owner Marge Krumme, the art business intends tosell an eclectic blend including open and limited print posters,picture frames, glassware, lamps, original paintings, and giftlines.

Among the various gift lines to be sold will be a Mother’s Dayline. This is something Simpson students could take note of.

Krumme said The Painted Pony Gallery would sell Amish and “folkart” pieces, among others. She said that by selling these styles ofwork it will be easier for Indianola residents to obtain pieceslocally and it will save some people a trip to Des Moines.

Simpson students who have recently signed up to live inapartment housing next fall may want to check out The Painted PonyGallery for some of their decorating needs.

Krumme said that her business is going to sell posters thatstudents may be interested in. Some of the posters Krumme said shethought students might like are those that depict various movies,the classic Peanuts comic strip character, Snoopy, and moretraditional landscape prints.

Although it is not yet official, Krumme hopes to have ThePainted Pony Gallery open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday thruFriday. As for the weekend hours, Krumme said that she wants thegallery to close earlier on Saturday than during the week and sheis still trying to decide if the store will be open for business onSundays at all.

According to Krumme, the open hours will be solidified when the”fall holidays” are at hand.
