With the holiday season in full swing, Simpson students will have the opportunity to become part of a classic this Friday, Dec. 1, from 6 – 8 p.m. with Dickens of Christmas, sponsored by the Simpson College Students in Free Enterprise.
This 10-year tradition is no longer sponsored by the Indianola Chamber of Commerce, and instead has been picked up by SIFE. The event features scenes from Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” in living window displays along with a horse-drawn carriage rides, food vendors and carolers.
SIFE members are currently looking for students to participate. Participation is mainly needed in the living window scenes, which requires entirely silent participation, with no lines to memorize.Other non-acting participants may sell food, stoke fires or walk around in costume.
