Bookstore Manager Cindi Harlan has been working in Simpson’s bookstore for eight years. She says even though her life might not be very exciting, it’s nice and quiet.

6:00 a.m.-Wake up

7:30 – Drive to Simpson from Des Moines

8:00 – Arrive at Simpson

8:00-8:30 – Check pulling reports

8:30 – Open the store

8:30-10:00 – Check e-mail, staff calendar meeting

10:00 – Conference call

11:00 – Online reports and surveys

12:00 p.m. – Lunch. Go over sales, promotions in place

1:00-3:00 – Work on sales floor with customers

3:00-5:00 -Webinair (powerpoint and conference call) and answering e-mails, phone calls

5:00 – Start shutting down the store

6:00 – Close store, send pulling reports

6:30 – Leave

7:00 – Arrive home

7:00-8:00 – Spend time with husband and dog

8:00 – Eat supper

9:30 – Go to bed
