Men’s Cross Country

3rd (80) @ Dutch Invitational, Sept. 1: Junior Eric Osterhaus came in third (19:13) and sophomore Tyler Jordinson got eighth (20:13).

3rd (108) @ Grinnell Les Duke Invitational, Sept. 8: Osterhaus won the overall individual race with a time of 26:34.

Women’s Cross Country

1st (32) @ Dutch Invitational, Sept. 1: The Storm had four top-ten finishers: sophomore Sara Hammel (2nd, 19:35), sophomore Jess Christensen (4th, 19:44), freshman Catie Ellingson (5th, 19:46), and freshman Kelsey Beeding (9th, 20:02).

3rd (62) @ Grinnell Les Duke Invitatinal, Sept. 8: Ellingson paced the Storm with a fifth place finish (24:07).

Football

W 14-3 vs. Concordia, Sept. 1: Junior running back Adam Reutzel had 104 total yards and scored a touchdown. Sophomore quarterback Tyson Unkrich threw for 144 yards and 2 touchdowns. The defense forced three Falcon turnovers.

L 35-0 @ Bethel (Minn.), Sept. 8: The Royals out-gained the Storm 239-50 on the ground. Senior wide receiver Trent Kain caught nine passes for 96 yards.

Women’s Golf

3rd, T (376) @ Mt. Mercy Invitational, Aug. 31: The Storm was led by senior Noel Triebel (87) and sophomore Katie Vaux (89), who finished seventh and eighth, respectively.

9th (719) @ Illinois College Invitational, Sept. 1-2: Triebel took the honors for Simpson, tying for fourth after shooting 164.

9th, T (719) @ Wartburg Fall Invitational, Sept. 8-9: Vaux shot the best for the Storm (171), finish in a five-way tie for 32nd.

Men’s Soccer

L 3-0 vs. Gustavus Adolphus, Aug. 31: Sophomore goalkeeper Josh Youngman had six saves.

T 1-1 (2 OT) vs. Macalaster (Minn.), Sept. 1: Corey Miller, sophomore mid-fielder, scored the only Storm goal and Youngman had five saves, two in overtime.

L 2-0 @ Augsburg, Sept. 4: Youngman had a season-high 10 saves.

L 1-0 (OT) @ Nebraska Wesleyan, Sept. 8: The Prairie Wolves scored at the 1:38 mark in overtime to get past the Storm.

Women’s Tennis

L 3-6 @ Cornell, Sept. 1: Sophomore Alissa Nance and freshman Jill Berner came away with singles victories for the Storm, while the duo of Berner and junior Jackie Suckow tallied Simpson’s only doubles win against the Rams.

L 0-9 @ Coe, Sept. 1: The Storm failed to record a win in their second dual of the day.

W 9-0 @ Buena Vista, Sept. 4: Senior Martha Davis, junior Jessica Nims, sophomore Alissa Nance, junior Jackie Suckow, freshman Jill Berner and junior Gwen Kingsbury all recorded singles victories.
