David Wolf, associate professor of English, has been teaching at Simpson since the fall of 2000. The focus of the classes he teaches is creative writing, contemporary literature, literature theory and composition. He came to Simpson because he liked the small, liberal arts focus, and the teaching-centered environment.

“I like being able to work closely with students on an individual basis,” Wolf said. “I also like the general collegiality of the faculty, students, and staff.”

Wolf received his bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Iowa and his master’s of fine arts at the University of Michigan.

In his spare time, Wolf enjoys spending time with his wife and playing lead guitar and keyboards in the rock band, “The Sonny Humbucker Band.” The band also features Professor of Management Mark Green, Mark Juffernbruch assistant professor of accounting, and Simpson Alum Thomas Wright. The band plays some original songs and covers re-done in their own style at public outdoor events, receptions, venues and weddings.
