We would like to thank SGA and EAC for having faith in the Simpson student body by letting us freely check out bikes as we please; however, must we remind you of the numerous accounts of bike theft reported weekly in the crime log? How about all of the reports of tires being slashed over the weekend?

While a majority of us can be trusted to check out bicycles as needed without the assistance of the library staff, let’s face it, some can’t.

If a bike is stolen, how will SGA, EAC or security retrieve it? Yes, they are decked out in Simpson decals, but for no more than $15, one can purchase a can of spray paint and fix that problem.

That’s a heck of a lot cheaper than a new bicycle.
