AIB had only seven players to work with against Simpson women’s soccer, and they couldn’t handle Simpson on Tuesday night by score of 7-0.

Simpson came into the game with an 8-6 record and AIB with a 1-12 record.

It was the most goals scored by the Storm and the scoring was spread out. Jess Toyne, senior, and sophomores Amber Johnson, Heather Adolph, and Alex Stucky, all scored two goals for the Storm.

Seniors Susan Leslie, Ashlee Krider, sophomore Madison Densmore, and freshmen Stephanie Cox and Amy Loverin all added one apiece.

The Storm took 51 shots putting 29 on goal with 5 assists. As for the Eagles, there was one shot attempt coming from Breanna Haberl.

Toyne’s scores tonight were her first of the season.

“It was nice to finally dominate a game and brush up on our skills,” Toyne said. “It was also good to have scoring contributions from people who don’t normally score.”

Goalkeeper Megan Petersen played all 90 minutes, but did not see any action recording zero saves on zero shot attempts from the Eagles.

The Storm improve their record to 9-6 overall as AIB drop to 1-13.

Simpson’s next game is Saturday the 20 as they head back into conference play to take on the Loras Duhawks.
