Track & Field opens outdoor season

PELLA, Iowa – Simpson College men’s and women’s track and field kicked off their outdoor season in Pella at the Central College Invitational on Thursday.

Men’s Results:

The men placed fourth out of eight teams, racking up 89 points being lead by Nick Yaeger who won the 3,000 meter steeplechase, finishing just under 10 minutes at 9:51.46.

Men’s Standings:

3) Central – 119

4) Simpson – 89

Sophomore Trevor McKee ran a time of 57.81 to earn a second place finish in the 400-meter hurdles as Isaac Frazier leapt 6-5 ½ in the high jump to come in second.

Women’s Results:

Senior Lauren Martin took home her first career first place finish in the 100 meters on Thursday, coming in at a time of 12.66 as the women’s squad finished seventh of nine teams at the Central Invitational.

Bayley Fleshner took third in the 100-meter hurdles at 15.19.
