INDIANOLA, Iowa — The Multicultural Student Alliance put together its annual Thanksgiving dinner Thursday in Great Hall to bring together students of all backgrounds.

Since 2006, the MSA has put together a Thanksgiving dinner to build community and interact with one another.

During dinner, students shared what they were thankful for, including their friends, family, teammates, Simpson College and the food provided.

Walter Lain, assistant dean of multicultural and international affairs, said the event is to express diversity, share interests and embrace each other’s differences.

There were about 90 students at the dinner. Even though it was a lower turnout than last year, Lain still enjoyed the dinner.

“It was a good turnout,” he said. “It’s nice to see everyone come to the dinner.”

Students lined up to get their dinner complete with turkey, ham, potatoes, green bean casserole, corn, and pie courtesy of Sodexo and help from the Student Government Association.
