INDIANOLA, Iowa — After a divisive and contentious election cycle, Election Day has finally arrived. Months of hard-fought battles and debates culminate onto one ballot. Whether it be the highly contested presidential race between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, or down-ballot contests, this election — undoubtedly — affects all Americans.

Just a reminder: Polls open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Iowa.

If you haven’t registered to vote, same-day voter registration is available. Here’s how to go about doing that.

– Before going to your polling place, stop by the Student Development office on the second floor of Kent Campus Center to pick up a copy of your Simpson lease agreement. This proves your Simpson residency and that you’re able to vote in the corresponding precinct (listed below) in Indianola.

– Make sure to have a valid form of identification on hand to prove your residency and identity. That could be a driver’s license, military ID, passport, etc.

– Tell the poll workers at the polling place that you need to register or you need to update your address, and they will walk you through the process.

– Vote!
