INDIANOLA, Iowa (KCCI) – Matt Jeter is the new head coach at Simpson College. But he’s not new to the program.

He was a standout cornerback for the Storm in late 90s. From there, he coached at Lincoln High School, then at Drake University, then at the University of Central Missouri before landing his first head coaching job back at Simpson.

“I’m all fired up,” Jeter said. “I couldn’t have written a better story to come back and coach my alma mater. You know, I grew up in Des Moines 15 minutes from here, so this is truly coming back home for me.”

“Coach Jeter brings a little bit of energy to practice,” running back Jordan Beem said. “He makes things run really smooth. From drill to drill, from period to period, things go really fast.”

His first game is Saturday at Wisconsin-Stout. For the full schedule, click here.
